Autum kicks off with a bang – three fish at 68lb.

This year Autumn has started with a real “BANG” first up was Peter Boulton (from Stoke) who managed a great result with one of our stunning big commons and then Moonscale at 68lb. A fish that only two years ago was a mid 50lb fish. This fish has massive potential and will be a new Ribiere 70lb fish this winter. This was followed a few weeks later with one of the biggest braces of fish we have seen this year at Ribiere with Peter Hergt from Holland, landing Alex and then 24 hours later Mr Magoo both fish at 68lb. He had already had fish at 44lb, 49lb and 57lb. What a week for Peter. All three fish will be over 70lb soon. Brian (another of the A Team) has also not been caught since spawning when it was 62lb and will not be far behind them. So I expect between three and four 70+ fish for the spring.

But that’s not all the action the lake has been fishing very consistently with around 30/40 fish each week and fish all over the lake. We have seen good hits on pegs 6,7,8,9 during the summer months and the big fish have been very happy to stay in this part of the lake. Alex coming from peg 6 and 8 and Mr Magoo coming from 7. The pack fish have been responding well to bait and large beds of it and the results, if you put the bait in, have been exceptional. Kevin and Greg Lewis (from Manchester) both benefited from a massive hall of big fish landing 13 fish over 40lb and three over 50lb, up to 56.13lb and a good number of backup fish.

Tim Oatley’s group also had a very good week with three of the lads smashing their P.B’s with fish over 50lb. The group had 33 fish with 15 fish over 40lb and three over 50lb to 56.10lb. With a good average size well over 40lb.

The group led by Myron Viana from London also had a great week with 35 fish caught across all areas of the lake. Peg 9 had the biggest with a 59lb and a new best for Myron, this will be a new 60lb fish this winter. Pegs 6/7 smashed it with 10 over 40lb two at 49lb and a 52lb. Joe with two personal bests in one week. Peg 3 had a run of fish over 40lb to 45lb. And pegs one and two also had fish but only managed fish to 38lb.
